One of the oldest and largest cities of Poland is Krakow. It is a city alive with soul and character. Krakow is Polands capital of culture. The city boasts the best museums in the country and some best theatres. Two Nobel Prize winners in literature is among its residents. It was named a European City of Culture in 2000.

Krakow came through World War Two unscathed. It has retained a wealth of old architecture from different periods, the tallest structures dominating Krakows skyline are the spires of old churches. The Main Market Sq is flanked by museums, historic buildings and churches.

Stare Miasto is the central historical district of Krakow. It is the most prominent example of an old town district in all of Poland. Ringed by parkland, the Old Town is both compact and charming.

There are more than 100 pubs and bars in the Old Town alone. Many are in vaulted cellars and are patronised by chain smoking Poles and many do not close until the early hours of the morning. Some offer meals or snacks but most are just watering holes. Famous for their superb beers and vodkas, Poles are not shy when it comes to the odd drink. The Old Town district has more bars per square metre than anywhere else in the world.

By Polish standards, Krakow is a food paradise. The Old Town is tightly packed with gastronomic venues, serving a wide range of cuisines catering to all. Krakow has plenty of budget eateries called jadlodajnia offering hearty Polish home style meals for a song.

Krakows Rynek Glowny is considered one of the most beautiful squares in the entire world. Known as the Market Square or the Main Square in English, in Poland it is known by its Polish title, the Rynek Glowny. The Rynek is also the term used by many foreigners and ex pats who know the city quite well.

Krakows Cloth Hall, the Renaissance monument of commerce it is the worlds arguably oldest shopping mall and has been in business in the middle of Krakow's central Grand Square for 700 years. Nowadays stalls on the ground floor and shops in the arcades mostly sell assorted souvenirs. Upstairs, since the 1880s the Krakow National Museum has exhibited its unparalleled collection of the 19 century Polish art, including Jan Matejkos famous movie like giant paintings. One of two Cloth Halls spacious cafes, the Noworolskis on the east side, has been opened since 1910 when it got its present elegant Art Nouveau decor.

Opal Mining Town in Australia

In the harsh Outback of South Australia, some 850 kilometres north of Adelaide and 680 kilometres south of Alice Springs is an opal mining town called Coober Pedy. It is recognised as the largest producer of opal in the world with an estimated 70 percent of the worlds precious opal being mined in the opal fields here.

The town is known as the opal capital of the world because what are widely regarded as the most precious opals are mined here. The name Coober Pedy comes from the local Aboriginal term kupa piti, which means white man in a hole.

It was named after John McDouall Stuart, and was called the Stuart Range Opal Field who in 1858 was the first European explorer in the area. In 1920 it was re named Coober Pedy. During the 1960s, the mining industry expanded rapidly due to the many European migrants who came to seek their fortunes. The 60's and 70's saw opal mining develop into a multi million dollar industry with Coober Pedy developing into a modern mining town.

There are more than a quarter million mine shafts in the area, and visitors are warned to be on the look out for them when travelling alone as if you fall into one you could remain undiscovered for days.

Some of the interesting attractions in Coober Pedy include the graveyard the mines, and the underground churches. The first tree ever seen in the town was welded together with scrap iron. It still sits on a hilltop overlooking the town. The local golf course where most of the games are play at night with glowing balls, to avoid daytime temperatures is completely free of grass and golfers take a small piece of turf around to use for teeing off.

Most of the population of Coober Pedy now live underground. A good, new underground house in Coober Pedy with five rooms can be constructed by a tunnelling machine for around 25 000 Australian Dollars. The reason for living under ground is that the temperature can rise to 50C in summer.

The Desert Cave Hotel allows you to experience dug out style living, underground shops, bar and opal display areas all within sandstone surrounds in the heart of Coober Pedy.

Coober Pedy Underground Catacomb Anglican Church is the towns famous Underground Catacomb Anglican Church which is a unique expression of the materials and activities of the local area. The altar is made like a winch and both the crucifix and the lectern are made out of mulga wood. Behind the altar are two air vents.

There are also several large massage parlors. Since the social order crackdown of 2004, there are very few sex shows. The Nongnooch Tropical Garden are a tourist attraction in natural surroundings. Nongnooch Village gardens with flowering plants orchids and orchids, mangoes and other types of flora. Famous Natural Landmark is Ayers Rock

Australia's most famous natural landmark is Ayers Rock also known as Uluru, the world's largest monolith and is an Aboriginal sacred site. It is near the heart of Australia. It is Australias most visited attraction with 400 000 visitors a year.

Geologically speaking, Uluru is the exposed stump of a vast miles long reef of rock buried under the earth there is far more to Uluru than meets the eye. Uluru measures 2.4km long and 1.6km wide and rises up to 867 metres above sea level.

No camping is allowed in the Park,

It is named after South Australian premier Sir Henry Ayres, by the white man who discovered it. Until recently a large numbers of tourists visited the rock and climbed it using a pole and rope path drilled into the side of the rock. As a result the rock was becoming eroded.

Once at the rock a lot of people make the steep climb to the top a long the marked walking track with handrail. This takes 90 minutes return The 10km walk around the rock takes 5 hours. There are three semi permanent pools from the water run off from the rock and there are aboriginal cave paintings in places.

On 26 October 1985, the Australian government returned the ownership of Uluru to the local Pitjantjatjara Aborigines, with one of the conditions being that the Auangu would lease it back to the National Parks and Wildlife agency for 99 years. The National Parks and Wildlife agency jointly manage it. It also regained its Aboriginal name of Uluru, which means Great Pebble.

Apart from the size of Uluru, what can make viewing it so memorable is the fact that as each day passes the rock changes colour depending on the atmospheric conditions and light and never remains the exact same permanent hue.

Sunset and sunrise are perhaps the most magical scene. Ayres Rock, is considered the largest rock in the world.

The Aboriginal community of Mutitjulu, who population is approximately 300, is located near the western end of Uluru.

There were several different shops within the resort, as well as the shops located at the cultural centre in the National Park. There are pieces from 20 Australian Dollars up to 10,000 Australian Dollars for purchase in these locations, depending on style and size. Craftworks is located in the heart of the Ayers Rock Resort. There was some beautiful art here.

The people hear love to party. Many do not think twice about dancing until 6 am and heading straight to work. Alcohol does not play a vital role in whether people enjoy themselves or not, portenos could have fun at an insurance convention. Being stylish is just one factor for a successful night out. Clubs, which attract crowds in the 18 to35 age range, do not fill up until 2 or 3 am. Theatre performances start at 9pm or 9:30 pm, and the last movie begins after midnight.

La Boca, known as the birthplace of the tango, was one time a shipyard has a famous walkway, called the Caminito, where artists exhibit their work and tango dancers perform.

One of the Oldest Cities in Europe

The capital of the largest city in the Republic of Bulgaria is Sofia and one of the oldest cities in Europe, the history of Sofia dates back to the 8th century BC.

Whilst Sofia is the capital it is not architecturally as beautiful and rich as its other Eastern European counterparts. But there is still plenty to do and see.

The main shopping areas are on Graf Ignatiev St Rakovski St or Vitosha Blvd and all streets leading off from them. There have been some dramatic changes on the shopping front and an ongoing influx of new and modern shops has made shopping a more pleasant all round experience. Many of the big western names in clothes, shoes, cosmetics and electronic goods are represented here and prices are on a par with the West. Bulgarian products such as textiles, wood, ceramic and leather products still represent value for money.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Boyana Church and National History Museum or some of the tourist attraction and much is being done to improve the current tourist attractions.

The magnificent Alexander Nevsky Cathedral was built between 1882 and 1912 to honour the Russian soldiers who died fighting to liberate Bulgaria from the Turkish rule in the war of 1878. The famous church monument is situated on the tree lined square of the same name, which also contains the Monument of the Unknown Soldier with its eternal flame. The impressive five nave basilica houses an interior just as splendid, with mosaics, stained glass windows, woodcarvings and marble as well as frescoes that cover the domes and walls. The underground crypt houses the Icon Museum featuring icon paintings from across the country that represents masterpieces from the 9th to the 18th century.

Other world famous places of interest such as the Koprivshtitsa and Rila Monastery are also a day trip from the Capital.

The First Tourist Place in Tunisia

It has about 50,000 inhabitants and 40,000 hotel beds. Swedish German and French, are spoken at all sides of you. Female tour guides in orange dresses talk with out a stop being followed by a crowd of camera tourists.

Hammamet night life is not confined to the hotel disco. There is plenty of nightlife in Hammamet including bars, cafes, restaurants and discos. At night the streets fill with people looking just a nice dinner or for a fun evening.

Clubs tend to be populated more by men than women here, you may see lots of men dancing together as most of the women who go clubbing are out for the evening with their man.

In the old city the Medina, the Souks offer a selection of objects of unsurpassed beauty and distinction, excellent craft arts and traditional work. Hand carved olive wood salad bowls, kitchen articles, vases, lamps, bracelets are sold here. This hard and durable wood needs only an occasional slight rubbing with oil to bring out the richness of its patterns.

A must to see is the former house and gardens of one of Hammamet's famous residents Georges Sebastian. Between 1932 and 1962 the Sebastian's house welcomed the most famous intellectuals, the most talented creators, and some of the most important personalities of this century including Sir Winston Churchill and Field Marshall Rommel

Bass Fishing At Spring Creek

I do not know a lot about the other lakes in Georgia except what I read. He fishes most of the lakes in Georgia in his tournaments. From what I read most of the lakes north of here have become overrun by spotted bass. He seldom catches one over 3lbs.

I have fished Ray's lake only a couple of times and have caught some small bass but those pads on the north end should hold some big bass and I am sure they have in the past. The carp you see are the white amour carp put into that area by the "DNR" to try and control weeds. The only result is that they have controlled the bass. The gates do, I am certain keep migrating bass out of the area as well as supposedly keeping the carp in. I hope, for the sake of the rest of the lake that they are successful in containing the carp.

Spring Creek used to be some of the best bass fishing in the nation. I used to catch 5-8 lb bass quite often and a limit of ten fish was not unusual. However in 1999 the DNR put a drip system at the bridge where SR253 crosses Spring Creek. This chemical was to kill off the hydrilla that covered about 85% of the Spring Creek arm. The result was a complete success. It killed almost all of the hydrilla, but with the hydrilla went the fish and I mean almost all of them. We used to have hydrilla around our dock and each spring the brim and shellcrackers bedded around the dock.

The year 2000 we had hundreds of big crackers and brim. A year later there were was nothing. I see a few around my dock now and people up and down the shoreline are catching them. I did not feed them this year to attract them so I do not know if that is the reason I do not have many.

I fished Spring Creek regularly in '02through '05 with little luck. Last year I began to catch a few nice bass again but both my boat and my health gave me problems since then and have not been able to fish this year like I usually did. I have heard reports that the bass have returned to Spring creek. I hope so but can't prove it.

I am hoping to get my boat back in the water tomorrow and get to fishing again regularly. I wish I could tell you that Lake Seminole is anything like it was in the late 90s but that would be false. I do believe, however that there are still lots of big fighting bass but not in Fish Pond Drain area because of the carp.

Have you ever tried the main lake? There are some places along the left shore, facing up the Flint, that have some good places for topwaters. Up around the islands there are some places where holes in the flats contain some good places. Also up the Flint the channel twists and turns with flats on both sides that produce on top.

The Chatahoochee side also has some good places upstream on the right is a marked channel, you have to look close to see it, that leads through hundreds of acres of pads. I have caught some bass there. I seldom go there because it is such a long run for me but much closer via the Fish Pond Drain. By the way Ronnie caught some fair fish in the pads at the lower end of Fish Pond Drain in a recent tournament, but no really big ones.

I believe that the lake is coming back now that the hydrilla is coming back. Now if the state will just keep hands off and let nature take it's way it will be a great bass lake again. One more thing I can tell you is that the flats on Spring Creek have never been that productive for me. The creek channel and the stump fields on either side have produced most of my bass over the years. I have caught a few small ones on the flats but the bigger ones have come from the creek channel areas.

Also almost all of my topwater fishing has taken place from the time the sun gets to the treetops until dark and sometimes even after dark. I caught my biggest bass ever, just over 9lbs, about 11 pm one moonless night on a muskie jitterbug. I cast back to the same hole in the hydrilla and caught one just under 9lbs. Of course I have gone fishless on many evenings and nights too but then that is bass fishing.

Now after telling you that I still believe this lake has a lot of good fishing but I also know that when your friends give up and don't come back it is difficult. Maybe you should talk to them and see if they have had better success elsewhere if they are still fishing. If they have had success perhaps you might give their place a try but maybe come back in some future vacation.

Also maybe you could give me a follow up in a few months and see if I have had more success since my health problem is now in check and my boat ready for the water. I hate to see people give up on the lake but I also see reasons for it in recent years largely due to errors by the State.

Costa Rica Tourist Attractions, Straight from the Horse\'s Mouth!

I was in Costa Rica for a year, I travelled all of it and stayed in every place-from big hotels to small cabins. Here is my experience about the attractions of Costa Rica that are worth visit.

Let's start with he volcanoes. Irazu is the highest volcano in Costa Rica and Arenal is the most active one. This particular volcano has the second widest crater in the world with the diameter being one and a half kilometers. There is also the Arenal Volcano, the only volcano in Costa Rica that's constantly active, and the Poas, a stratovolcano with several eroded calderas, cones, and two crater lakes at or near its summit.

The National Parks. Costa Rica has been known for its natural environment and the diversity of the bio-life there. Choose between Poas Volcano National Park, Palo Verde National Park, Cahuita National Park and Arenal Volcano National Park.

Try and go for hiking on one of the many amazing trails in Costa Rica. I hope you are fit! Hike a rainforest, near a volcano or along the coast. Nearly all of Costa Rica's national parks have short trails that can be hiked in an hour or two, while others have routes that take the better part of a day to complete, such as the trails to the top of Barva and Rincon de le Vieja Volcanoes. There are also plenty of well marked hiking trails.

Don't hesitate to visit local restaurants and try anything they have, the local food is delicious. I once went to a typical CR family for dinner and they served beef tongue, today I'm still craving it!

Try and go to as many beaches as possible while you are there. Costa Rica has the most tropical scenery, full of life waters and cleanests beaches. A favorite of mine is in Guanacaste, Playa Conchal, an amazing tropical beach made entirelly of crushed shells!

You should also go diving or snorkelling in Costa Rica's beautiful Reefs. Cahuita National Park is best known for the coral reefs close to shore. The coral reefs are the most studied marine ecosystems on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Of these, the one at the Parque Nacional Cahuita has been studied longer and in greater detail. In the dry season, there is good snorkeling from the beach, and you are likely to see light yellow brain, elkhorn, and blue staghorn corals, sea fans, and gorgonians as a back drop to the more than 500 species of fish endemic to the reefs.

Don't forget to see the lakes and rivers, I suggest the Rio Grande de Tarcoles, a river full of Crocodiles, Scarlet Macaws, Jesus Christ Lizards, and over 120 species of birds. There is also San Juan River with jungle trails. And for the lakes, Lake Nicaragua, the second largest lake in Latin America, and Lake Arenal near the volcano, the largest in Costa Rica which offers all year round windsurfing, fishing, boat tours, kayaking, horseback riding & mountain biking along the shore, etc.

And don't forget to visit the capital, San Jose, to get a glimpse of city life in Costa Rica. Shopping at the amazing big Mall in Escazu will definatelly add to the experience.

Take your time, have an open mind and an adventurous spirit and I assure you that Costa Rica will be an amazing experience that you will talk about for years!

The buildings of Prague represent a variety of architectural styles, such as Art Nouveau, Baroque, Renaissance, Cubist, Gothic, Neo-Classical, and modern.

These figures represent the four things despised by the people of Prague at the time of the clock's creation. These things are: Death, who appears as a skeleton; Vanity, who holds a mirror; Judaism, who carries a bag; and the Turkish, wearing a turban.

Another fascinating sight within the city of Prague is the Lennon Wall. Originally, this wall was nothing more than a plain historic wall. However, beginning in the 1980s, people have covered it with graffiti honoring singer John Lennon. And, in 1988, the wall was used by young people for listing grievances against the communist regime.

The wall changes constantly and the portrait of John Lennon that was one of the original works of graffiti is now obscured by layers of paint. Although authorities have tried over the years to stop the graffiti by painting over the wall, new graffiti always appears sometimes as soon as the second day. Today the wall is owned by the Knights of the Maltese Cross who allow the graffiti to continue as a symbol of love and peace.

How to Avoid Long Lines at Disney Land or Disney World

One source of frustration and annoyance for many visitors at Disney land or Disney World are the long lines for the rides. You can literally spend several hours of the day standing in line to ride popular attractions. These lines can be avoided in one of three ways.

1. Get to Disneyland early. The lines are shorter in the morning when the park first opens. Instead of jumping in line for the first ride you see, head for the rides that you really want to ride the most popular rides. Make a plan or itinerary on what rides are most popular that you want to visit and schedule them. This has worked like a charm for my family.

2. Another option is to purchase Fast Pass tickets for the rides that offer them. Again, do this early to ensure that you get to ride those rides earlier in the day. You can also order tickets online or by phone. Call Disney and request a Fast Pass ticket or tickets for specific rides. A little planning and forethought go a long way to making your Disney Vacation an extra special one.

Side Note:

FastPass can be obtained from machines located near the rides that accept FastPass. This doesn't mean that you get to immediately move to the front of the line. It is more like scheduling an appointment for the ride later in the day at which time you actually will move to the front of the line. In the meantime, you are free to go enjoy other sites and rides around the park.

When you obtain a FastPass ticket, you will be given a one hour time in which to enjoy the ride. For instance, your FastPass ticket may say 11am to 12pm. This means that you can show up and move to the front of the line between the hours of 11am and 12pm. You must have your Disneyland ticket in order to obtain a FastPass ticket.

At Disneyland, FastPasses are available for Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin, Autopia, Space Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear.

3. The third option to avoid long lines at Disneyland is to ride many of the popular rides later in the evening, while the majority of people are enjoying the entertainment. Disneyland or Disney World has nightly entertainment, and this is a good time to find shorter lines.

Of course, it will mean that you probably miss the entertainment, so if you can use one of the other options for shorter lines at Disneyland, you should probably do so.

Most visitors just wander around aimlessly but those with a specific plan on what rides they definitely want to visit and in the order of popularity will enhance the overall Disney Vacation.

Bulls In Pamplona - Its Great Spain Festival

Pamplona has a long history, founded in the first century by the Romans as a camp on which to keep their eyes on the nearby Basque settlement of Iruna. Situated in the basin of the River Arga in the shadow of the Pyrenees, Pamplona is an eclectic mix of old and new. The town is the capital of the province of Navarre and renowned throughout the World for its Fiesta of San Fermin which features the annual 'running with the bulls' spectacular.

The Fiesta is famous for supplying two things in abundance: bulls and alcohol. However, it is very important that you never mix the two! Brought to the world's attention by Ernest Hemingway and latterly featured in the popular 1991 Hollywood film City Slickers; the highlight of the Fiesta of San Fermin is most definitely the Bull Run.

The Encierro, as it is known, takes place each morning at 8.00 a.m. from 7th to 14th July every year. Bulls that will be used in the bullfights later that evening are released into the street. There are no application forms or waiting lists for those who want to run with the Bulls in Pamplona; anyone can take part. Just pick your spot on the 830 metre course, approx half a mile in length, well in advance. Wooden fencing marks the course and on the dot of 8.00 a.m. each morning a rocket is released to alert everyone to the letting out of the bulls. Once all the bulls have been released a second rocket is set off. Then the fun begins.

Anyone who has ever attended an Encierro will put running with the bulls as one of the most exciting things they have ever done. If you decide to run with the bulls in Pamplona the most important thing to remember however is that, even if you are an Olympic sprinter, you cannot outrun them. The best bet is to be at least 50 metres ahead of the rampaging beasts and be ready to jump over the fence when you start to run out of breath and they get closer!

Getting accommodation in Pamplona around festival time can be challenging! Most people book up at least a year in advance, or opt to camp, sleep in their car or merely stay up all night making the most of the festivities!

Getting there is not a problem with regular low-cost flights available to Bilbao, 70 miles away or San Sebastian, within 40 miles. They are better options than flying directly to Pamplona as only Iberia actually flies there and the cost of those flights often outweighs the convenience of landing in the town.

Other than the Fiesta and the bull run there are two other sites of note in Pamplona; the Plaza del Castillo, and the 17th century fortress, the Ciudadela.

Whether you are going for the thrills of the Fiesta, to experience the sights and sounds of Pamplona or both, you won't be disappointed. This part of Spain offers man-made and natural beauty in equal amounts and extends all visitors a warm welcome.

Warsaw Offers a Mix of Culture and Solitude

Warsaw, the capital of Poland, is also the country's largest city. It is located midway between the Baltic Sea and the Carpathian Mountains and is the seventh biggest city in the European Union. Tourists Interested in Medieval Culture are Drawn to York, England

The City of York lies in North Yorkshire, England. It was once considered just the land lying inside the city walls. However, in 1996, the city was expanded to include nearby parishes in the districts of Harrogate, Ryedale, and Selby.

York is situated where the rivers Ouse and Fess meet. This area is known as the Vale of York. It is an area of fertile land surrounded by the Pennines, North York Moors, and the Wolds. As a flat area of land, it is highly susceptible to flooding from the River Ouse.

To prevent this, a flood defense system has been put in place. Unfortunately, the system isn't entirely foolproof, so in October and November of 2000, the city suffered a flood of levels not seen in over 350 years. The flood caused a lot of damage even though it never managed to breach the floodwalls, which had been reinforced with sandbags. In spite of its flood defenses, a great deal of the land within the city isn't considered suitable for building because of its propensity to flood.

York was founded in 71 AD and was the capital of the Roman Province of Britannia Inferior. The name "York" originally came from the old Latin name for the city, Eboracum, meaning "place of yew trees." It later became the county seat of the Archbishop of York, and remains so today.

Although York was considered an important city for quite some time, it lost some of its prominence during the Industrial Revolution. Though it probably wasn't considered a good turn at the time, it was this decline in reputation that resulted in the great number of medieval buildings that are still intact there today. When the 19th century brought about a new interest in medieval culture, the city was renovated and now garners a lot of attention from tourists.

There are a number of attractions for tourists to visit in York, England. One of them is York Minster. This enormous Gothic cathedral is at the center of the city and is the largest cathedral of its kind in Europe.

The center of the city is still surrounded by walls built in medieval times. Within the walls is Clifford's Tower, which is a keep built atop a Norman motte. Clifford's Tower has the dubious distinction of being the location of a horrible massacre of Jews in 1190.

Also inside the city is The Shambles, a medieval street where there are many boutiques, shops, and tearooms. Many of these businesses are housed in former butcher shops, so the hooks and shelves once used to display meats are still apparent in some of them. Another attraction along The Shambles is the Shrine of Margaret Clitherow.

The Snickelways is also located in the center of York. The Snickelways are a network of pedestrian routes that lead to what was once the main marketplace. Also within the city are many museums, such as the Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, the York Art Gallery, and many more.

York is also a major destination for people interested in horse racing. In the Knavesmire area of York is the York Racecourse.

Another reason many tourists choose to travel to York is its many pubs and medieval churches. Some say that a spot doesn't exist in York where you can't stand within site of both a church and a pub. While that might be an exaggeration, the city is indeed known for its many charming pubs.

UK Media Boost For Malta Holiday Island 2007 Bookings

After some years of a declining tourist market, the Mediterranean island of Malta is seeing a revival in her fortunes as a mainstream tourist destination.

The prospects for the island have improved dramatically over the last year. At one point in 2006 there was speculation that a major British tour operator was considering taking the holiday island out of its brochures, but this year, having stared at the possibility of slipping to a niche travel destination, Malta is enjoying an upswing in visitor numbers.

The danger of slipping to a niche travel status, and the subsequent economic consequences for the Malta tourist industry, is thought to be part of the reason why the island was galvanised into finally accepting low cost flights from her main UK and Irish markets, with Ryanair starting flights from London in November last year, and this March from Dublin.

In addition to the new Ryanair services, the island's own airline, Air Malta, has run a successful campaign of its own for cheap flights to Malta, and from May launched a new route from Liverpool to Malta. Further visitors are expected from Spain and Germany, following agreements with airlines to provide cheap Malta flights outside of Malta's traditional market.

The extra visitor numbers are being boosted by more media coverage in Malta's traditional core market of the United Kingdom, with daily and Sunday newspapers featuring Malta more as a suggested location for a holiday.

According to UK based travel site for Malta the number of enquiries from British journalists asking for information about Malta in the first three months of 2007 is up significantly from 2006.

'Malta seems to have come back on travel writers' radar', they say, 'We've been pleasantly surprised at the number of national newspapers asking us for quotes. The same has happened with journalist enquiries for property in Malta, showing perhaps that increased media interest for holidays in Malta is no coincidence.'

More TV Coverage

But there could be a bigger boost for Malta this fall autumn if discussions concerning a British TV soap comes to fruition.

Local media in Malta reported recently that talks were taking place with Britain's favourite TV soap, Coronation Street, about filming an episode on the island.

Coronation Street is the world's longest running soap, and first broadcast in 1960. Viewing figures in the UK regularly top ten million viewers an episode, and as recently as April this year reached twelve million.

'If it were to happen,'comment the Malta travel guide, 'It could be a major boost for the winter season and for summer 2008 too.
