Duty Free Shoppers Paradise

One of the seven United Arab Emirates on the sun drenched Arabian Peninsula and the second largest is Dubai. The capital is known as Dubai City. The kingdom is known for its international business zone which has been built into a major player in recent years. Dubai is modern hi tech Arabia. The streets are clean and futuristic skyscrapers dominate the city landscape.

Its airports Duty Free complex is one of the best in the world with some bargains and fantastic goods. Dubai's numerous shopping malls cater to every consumer need, clothing, cars, furnishing, jewellery, electronics, sporting equipment, and will likely all be under the same roof. It is labelled the shopping capital of the Middle East, with so many shopping malls a duty free shopper's paradise that gives you more for your money.

Spice Souk is not a mall, but a historic market. The Gold Souk, has declined a bit in recent years as supermarkets have taking over the spice trade. Both the Spice Souk and the Gold Souq are a rather hot and sweaty experience with limited air conditioning. Individual shops are air conditioned.

Dubai supply of Persian carpets is considered one of the best outside of Iran. Prices are also good if you know a bit about carpets and bargaining. The Blue Souk in Sharjah is famous for its carpet and gold shops.

Dubai offers blue seas and fine beaches and there are lots of them. When developers ran out of beach they built luxury artificial islands. The Jumeira beaches have soft white sand that slip into the shallow warm turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf.

Temperatures peak in the summer. As a result the best time to visit Dubai is November to March when the climate is extremely pleasant.

The nightlife is known as the best in the UAE with a large choice of nightclubs and bars. Most of the bars that can serve alcohol are only in hotels, there are though a few exceptions. Dubai also has some laws regarding clubs, they all must close at 3 am, you must be 21 to drink alcohol, 25 to enter a nightclub, and they are not allowed by law to refuse entrance to anyone. A lot of the members clubs have very high entrance fees.

Horse racing in Dubai is a glimpse into the worlds richest horse race. The United Arab Emirates is well placed on the world map of international sport. The infrastructure and facilities are world class and has marked the UAE as the sporting capital of the Middle East.
